I recently took the wine tour. I initially thought the price was high, but as the day went on, I began to understand the significance of the cost. The day started out at the San Antonio Winery. There is free parking and this winery alone is a great place to start. Your tastings and cheese plate is a part of the cost. Tom's knowledge is exceptional and getting a private tour of the history and wine production was amazing.
The next stop was The San Fernando Mission. We were driven so you don't need to worry about driving after wine tasting. This part of the tour was amazing, Tom again was extremely knowledgeable, his private tour of the mission was very worth it, we even got to see the park across the street and the history of the area.
Then, you're off to wine country! At this point you do tastings only, no other tours of the wine production. Again, the fact that you're driven is a major plus. Our first stop was the Reyes Winery. Wine tastings are covered, but we provided the tips. This was a nice area to have a bite to eat. The tour provided a lovely box lunch and non-alcoholic beverages, you can purchase a glass of wine if you wish.
Our last stop was the Agua Dulce winery. This was one of my favorites. Take time to stroll the grounds in the back, very family friendly - lots of animals to see, and a picnic area. Again, tastings are covered.
Although the tour is scheduled from 11:00am to 3:30pm, we arrived back at San Antonio Winery at 4:15pm. Leave a little extra time depending on LA traffic. When you consider the time, gas, being driven, all costs for tastings and lunch, along with expertise of a personal tour, I had a very good experience with lovely memories of my time with Mr. LA tours.
